In this session we explore the new curriculum and resources being developed by CCSD Grade 5 Social Studies Curriculum Committee. An overview of the curriculum and methodology will be presented with a focus on materials for Unit 1: Canada. Participants will be able to experience lessons and enter the school year prepared to teach the first unit in the fall.

Biology and ESS science teachers will continue to plan for the upcoming shift in science. Teachers will explore the released educator guides and align released sampler questions to the PLD's. Teachers will use remaining time to work collaboratively on planning curriculum to NYSSLS to include implementation of the NYS Investigations.
An opportunity for World Language Dept. teachers to gain a better understanding of requirements to obtain the Seal of Biliteracy and specific target language skills that require years of practice to reach that level. The role of panel members in the final presentation by student candidates will be included to prepare colleagues to fill that need. Time will also be allocated for subgroups by language for discussion regarding current program strengths and needs to best prepare students for success during graduation year.
This session is intended for district librarians. The training will focus on how the devices utilized through the Pilots and Innovative Projects program can be used to support the NYS Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards.

In this session, teachers will be provided a general overview of the Mystery Science platform. Teachers will learn the formatting of a unit and tips for implementation and utilizing additional Mystery Science resources and tools (i.e.: google form assessments, extension readings/activities). With remaining time, teachers will collaborate to begin planning a lesson using Mystery Science.
A session designed for secondary physical education teachers. We will provide live examples, as well as a video reference, of the skills and techniques that can be used for secondary physical education classes.
In this session, teachers will go through the Circle of Life Investigation, including how to print and administer this part of the New Grade 5 Science Assessment. This is the first mandatory investigation of the year. Teachers will also go be shown the Schoology resources for science.
